Willkommen zurück zur Buchreise!
Letzte Woche gab es leider keinen Buchtipp, ich dachte lieber keinen Tipp als einen schlechten. Doch heute bin ich zurück in alter Frische und möchte euch mein Allzeit-Favorit vorstellen.

"Für immer vielleicht"

Das zweite Buch von Cecelia Ahern habe ich mindestens schon sieben Mal gelesen und werde es wohl noch einige weitere Male lesen. Manchmal schlage ich einfach irgendeine Seite auf, um ein wenig darin zu schmöckern. Deshalb ist es auch eine sehr gute WC-Lektüre. ;-)

Die Rückseite des Buches beschreibt sehr treffend, worum es im Buch gehen wird:
"Wir haben zweimal nebeneinander vor dem Altar gestanden, Rosie, zweimal! Und jedes Mal auf der falschen Seite!"
Alex und Rosie kennen sich seit sie fünf Jahre als sind. Das Schicksal hat sie zu mehr als besten Freuden bestimmt, das scheint jedem klar - nur dem Schicksal nicht. 

Also an alle Romantiker - aufgepasst - das ist etwas für euch. Die Geschichte ist wirklich sehr rührend, manchmal ein wenig frustrierend, oft sehr humorvoll. Manchmal kann man es einfach nicht glauben, man möchte dem Schicksal selber einen Hinweis geben. Aber so ist das Leben wohl, nicht immer gradlinig und nicht immer so, wie man es gerne hätte.

Das Buch "Für immer vielleicht" ist in Briefform gehalten. Die Protagonisten schreiben Briefe, Email, SMS, kleine Notizen und manchmal werden auch Chatverläufe und Telefonate aufgeführt. Ahern lässt immer die Personen sprechen, sie übernimmt nie selber das Wort. Die Geschichte zieht sich über  Jahrzehnte, beginnt im Schulalter und endet weit nach der Pensionierung. Es ist also keine Hollywood-Geschichte über eine reine Jugendliebe.

Das Buch wurde kürzlich auch verfilmt. Ich habe den Film nicht gesehen, doch ich habe mir vor wenigen Minuten den Trailer angeschaut. Ich kann mir einfach nicht vorstellen, dass ein Buch, dass nur auf dem schriftlichen Austausch beruht, verfilmt werden kann. Der Trailer ist nicht schlecht, aber meine Zweifel sind nicht verflogen. Aber eigentlich will ich euch ja nicht den Film ans Herz legen, sondern das wunderschöne Buch. Ich freue mich zu hören, wie es euch gefällt und wünsche euch noch einen wunderbaren Mittwoch!

Welcome back to the book journey!
Last week I skipped on it, but I thought that I better present you a good book than just a random book. But now I'm back to track and I want to introduce you to my alltime favourite book:

"Where the Rainbows End"

This is the second book of the successful Irish author Cecelia Ahern. In Great Britain it's called "Where the Rainbows End" while in the US the title is simply "Rosie Dunne".
I already read the book probably seven times and I'm sure I will read it a couple of times again. Sometimes I just chose a random page to read a little bit in it. That's why it is also a perfect book for the toilet! :-)

The back of the book summarizes the story pretty well:
Since childhood, Rosie and Alex have stuck by each other through thick and thin. But they're suddenly separated when Alex and his family move from Dublin to America. Rosie is lost without him. Then, just as she is about to join Alex in Boston, she gets life-changing news - news that will keep her at home in Ireland.
Their magical connection remains but can their friendship survive the years and miles - as well as new relationships? And always at the back of Rosie's mind is whether they were meant to be more that just good friends all along. Misunderstandings, circumstances and sheer bad luck have kept them apart - until now. But will they gamble everything - including their friendship - on true love? And what twists and surprises does fate have in store for them this time?

So, it's for all the romantic readers I have out there. This is a book for you. It's a really nice story, sometimes a little bit frustrating, really funny and sarcastic and sometimes you just want to give the fate a small hint. But that's life I guess? Sometimes things happen that you can't plan and make you rethink your whole life.

The book "Where the Rainbows End" is written in letters, emails, short messages, small notes and sometimes even in chat-form or phone calls. Cecelia Ahern always lets the protagonists talk, she never takes over that part. The story starts in Rosie's and Alex's early childhood and goes through their whole life up to their retirement. It's not just a Hollywood-Teenage-Story, it really rolls up a whole life with all its stroke of fate.

Recently, the movie about the book came out. "Love, Rosie" is the name and it's with British actors. I was always skeptical how to make a movie out of a book which is based on letters and emails. So, I just watched the trailer and it doesn't look too bad but I'm still not convinced. If you want to check out the trailer as well, here we go.

But I'm not writing this post that you're going to watch the movie after, chose the book, it's worth it and a wonderful story to get lost.

Buchreise *5 / Book journey *5 Fifthy Shades of Grey

Noch drei Tage, dann ist es endlich so weit - der erste offizielle Porno feiert in den Kinos seine Premiere: "Fifty Shades of Grey".
Kein Film hat wohl je so viel Aufmerksamkeit erhalten, bevor er überhaupt Premiere feierte. Ich erinnere mich, dass ich den ersten Trailer vor über einem Jahr gesehen habe. Seither ist viel passiert, der Film ist nun entgültig im Kasten. Marken wie Yankee Candles und OPI lancierten ihre "Fifty Shades of Grey" Linien - die Welt ist also bereit für ein wenig Erotik.
Dabei stelle ich mir eine Frage: Wie kann die amerikanische Filmindustrie, die generell als unglaublich prüde angesehen wird, einen Film produzieren bei dem es nur um Sex geht? Ich werde es am Sonntag erfahren, denn als wahrer Fan habe ich die Tickets natürlich schon vor zwei Wochen bestellt und warte nun mit grosser Vorfreude auf den Film am Sonntag. Naturlich müssen die Europäer wieder den Sex-Film anschauen, typisch werden die Kanadier wohl sagen :)

Im Anbetracht der Aktualität widme ich die heutige Buchreise "Fifty Shades of Grey". Ich gehöre zu denen, die alle drei Bücher gelesen hat. Alle drei!! Ja, ich bin ein wenig stolz und Nein, ich werde euch den Schluss natürlich nicht verraten.

Die Bücher haben mich am Anfang kaum mitgerissen und trotzdem konnte ich sie nicht weglegen. Zu schnell war ich in die Geschichte von Christian Grey und Anastasia Steele verwickelt. Der Zauber um Grey faszinierte mich, genauso die selbstzerstörerische Art von Anastasia.
Die Geschichte der Beiden zog mich in den Bann und die Vergangenheit von Grey fesselte mich an das Buch. Woher kommt dieses Verlangen anderen Schmerzen zuzufügen? Woher kommen die Narben an seinem Körper?
Das Buch besteht wohl zu 70% aus Sexszenen. Dabei wird kein Detail weggelassen, die Autorin verliert sich manchmal ein wenig in den Details. Doch das ist wohl Teil der Geschichte. Anfangs las ich noch jede einzelne Seite, irgendwann übersprang ich allerdings einige Seiten. Shame on me!

Trotzdem nervte mich die negative Presse, die das Buch erhielt. Viele Reviews der grossen Zeitungen stempelten das Buch als schmutzig und unangemessen ab, ein Buch ohne Hintergrund. Doch diese Beschreibung ist nicht angemessen und richtig. In meinen Augen hat das Buch durchaus einen tieferen Sinn. Christian Grey hat nicht einfach die weitverbreitete Tiger-Woods-Krankheit aka Sexsucht. Sein Verhalten geht viel tiefer und hat mehr psychologische Hintergründe als angenommen. Aber ich will mich hier nicht einer psychologischen Debatte verlieren, das überlasse ich gerne anderen. ;)
Ausserdem möchte ich nicht zu viel verraten, schliesslich sollte ihr ja die Bücher lesen oder wenigstens den Film schauen, da möchte ich nicht die ganze Spannung vorwegnehmen.
Von vielen habe ich gehört, dass sie das erste Buch das Beste fanden. Dieser Meinung kann ich mich nur anschliessen. Das erste ist wohl das intensivste und spannenste. Danach konnte sich die Autorin kaum mehr selber übertreffen und von den Sexszenen hat man irgendwann doch auch genug.
Doch man liesst dann trotzdem bis am Schluss, man will ja schliesslich wissen wie es ausgeht (und man hat schon mehrere hundert Seiten hinter sich, da kann man nicht einfach so aufhören).

Noch eine letzte Anmerkung. Wenn ihr euch den Film anschaut, betrachtet auch den Hintergrund, denn der Film spielt an keinem anderen Ort als in meiner schönen zweiten Heimat Vancouver! ;)

Nun möchte ich eure Meinung wissen! Wie fandet ihr das Buch? Sehr ihr euch den Film überhaupt an oder findet ihr das alles einfach kompletten Mist?

Three days and then it's time for the release of the first official porn in the public movie theater: "Fifty shades of Grey".
No movie ever got that much attention before it even got released. "Fifty Shades of Grey" is just everywhere - brands like Yankee Candles and OPI launch "Fifty Shades of Grey" collections.
My main question is the following: How can the American film industry, famous to be super prude, make a movie that is just about sex? I will find it out on Sunday because I'm one of these freaks who got the tickets two weeks in advance ;) Of course, the Europeans have to see the sex movie first!:)

So, I'm taking the "up-to-dateness" to dedicate my weekly book review to "Fifty Shades of Grey". I'm one of these people who read the book. All three of them! Yes, I'm proud that I made it to the end and No, I'm not going to tell you the end, don't worry!

The relation between the book and myself wasn't exactly a love story from the beginning. It was kind of a love-hate-relationship I didn't really like the book but I couldn't stop reading. I was captured in the story of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. The magic around Christian Grey is fascinating as well the self-destructive behaviour of Anastasia.So even if I didn't want to admit it - the story got my attention and to a certain level my fascination. Especially the past of Christian Grey made me curious. Why did he have that obsession to hurt others? Where did all these scarfs on his body come from?
The book is up to 70% just about sex. The author loves to describe every single detail, nothing stays unspoken. In the beginning, I was reading every single page but by the time I start to skipping pages. Shame on me!
Nevertheless I think that the press had the wrong attitude about the book and described it as a dirty and nasty book without any special meaning. Sex sells - that was the idea of the media. Of course to a certain degree this is true, as we can see but that's not everything, there is way more behind it. Christian Grey is not just suffering of the Tiger-Woods-disease, also called sex addiction. There is a psychological and reasonable explanation behind his behaviour. The story tells us more about human beings and their behaviour than we think.
But I can't tell you more about him and his story because I guess you don't want to know the ending before you go to the movies.
Many people told me that they liked the first book the most and I have to agree with them. The first one is intense, new and sometimes shocking. In the second and third book things become a repetition and you get used to the content. But the reason you don't stop reading is simply that you want to know the ending (and you already read a couple of hundred pages, so you have to make it to the end:))

One last word. If you are going to watch the movie in the theater, pay attention to the background! The movie plays in my new home Vancouver. So don't miss the beautiful spots ;)

Buchreise *4 "Cafe Amore" / Book Journey *4 "Delicious"

Heute gibt es einen Buchtipp zu einem Buch, das ich schon vor langer Zeit gelesen habe, aber dafür schon mehr als einmal. Das heutige Buch "Cafe Amore" entführt uns zu unserem südlichen Nachbarn - nach Italien, direkt in die italienische Küche.  

Man kann den Duft des frischen Basilikums und der saftigen Tomaten schon nach den ersten Seiten riechen, das Wasser steigt einem in den Mund. 

Das Buch handelt vom Schicksal der jungen Maria Domenica und ihrem persönlichen Zwist zwischen dem traditionellen, katholischen Italien und dem persönlichen Drang nach Freiheit und Glück. Der Klappentext beschreibt den Inhalt des Buches folgendermassen:

Pepina kann wunderbare Gerichte zaubern, aber Maria Domenica wird die Küche ihrer Mutter im süditalienischen San Giulio schon bald zu eng. Sie will mehr sehen von der Welt und kann sich so gar nicht mit Marco anfreunden, den ihre Eltern für sie als Ehemann im Auge haben.

Im Caffé Angeli an der Dorfpiazza verdient sich die junge Frau genügend Geld, um ihren Traum zu verwirklichen. Ein guter Freund unterstützt ihre Pläne. Und er steht ihr zur Seite, als sie eines Tages mit einem Geheimnis aus der grossen, weiten Welt zurückkehrt....

Das Buch "Cafe Amore" ist eine wunderbare Geschichte über das Italien der 60er bis heute. Es zeigt die traditionelle Seite des Landes mit einer Hauptdarstellerin, die diesen Traditionen entfliehen möchte. Doch im Laufe der Geschichte findet man sich im neuen Jahrzehnt wieder, doch die Traditionen und Narben aus den 60er-Jahren sind noch lange nicht vergessen. 

"Cafe Amore" ist ein Buch über drei Generationen von Frauen, die unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten, doch ihre Liebe zur Küche führt sie immer wieder zusammen. 

Das Buch kann auf keinen Fall hungrig gelesen werden. (Wieso kann man eigentlich keines meiner Bücher hungrig lesen??) Das Buch ist eine Hommage an die italienische Küche. Maria Domenica wächst in der Küche ihrer Mutter auf und lernt von Kind auf, wie man die perfekt Mahlzeit zaubert. Die Autorin geizt nicht mit Beschreibungen der Menus oder des wunderschönen Gartens der Familie. Man kann den Geruch der Tomaten, Pfirsiche, des Kaffees und der Pasta in jeder Seite des Buches riechen!

Das Buch und die Autorin sind wohl nicht sehr bekannt, aber falls irgendjemand das Buch schon gelesen hat, freue ich mich natürlich über andere Meinungen! Ansonsten eine wunderschöne Woche und guten Hunger! ;)

Today I'm going to present you a book that I was reading a long time ago and I already read it several times because it's just so lovely. The book "Delicious" brings us straight to a beautiful country in southern Europe - Italy, right into the Italian kitchen.

While reading the book you can smell the fresh basil and the fruty tomatoes and you just get hungry right away.

The book "Delicious" is about the fate of the young Italian woman Maria Domenica and her personal dispute between the traditional Italian culture and her personal urge for freedom and fulfillment. The blurb on the books explains the content like this:

It’s 1964 and Maria Domenica is the eldest daughter of the Carrozza family from the tiny southern Italian village of San Giulio. At 16 her life is limited to the confines of her mother’s kitchen and the Caffe Angeli, a place of friendship, strong espresso and delicious pastries. Maria’s parents have high hopes for their eldest daughter but she has other plans.Many years later a young woman is drawn to San Giulio. She soon discovers that the peaceful Italian life she seeks is not as it seems – particularly where the past is concerned.

The book "Delicious" is a wonderful story about Italy from the 60ies up to today. It shows the traditional sides of the country with a main character who tries to escape these traditions. During the book we travel to the 21st century, but the traditions and scars of the past didn't seem to heal. 

"Delicious" is a book about three generations of women who couldn't be more different but their love for food and cooking is bringing them together! 

You really shouldn't read the book while you are hungry. (Why are all my books like this?!?) The book is a tribute to the Italian kitchen. Maria Domenica was growing up in her mothers kitchen and she learnt from the beginning how to cook the perfect Italian dish. The author describes every single detail of the kitchen, the ingredients and the lovely garden in the back of the house. You can smell the tomatoes, the peaches, the coffee and the pasta on every single page of the book! 

The book and the author are probably not as well known, but I'm curious to hear about your opinion if you have read the book!

"#Girlboss ist ein feministisches Buch und Nasty Gal ist eine feministische Firma - im Sinne, dass ich dich ermuntere, als eine Frau, die Person zu sein, die du willst und das zu tun, was du möchtest. Aber ich bin nicht hier, um Männer für all meine Probleme verantwortlich zu machen." (Sophia Amoruso)

Willkommen bei #Girlboss. Falls ihr bis jetzt den Hintern noch nicht hoch gekriegt habt, werdet ihr es nach diesem Buch auf jeden Fall!

Sophia Amoruso war 22 Jahre alt, kontrollierte an einer Kunstuniversität die Studentenkarten, damit sie die staatliche Versicherung bekam und eigentlich war sie durchgehend pleite. Heute ist sie 30 Jahre alt, führt ein 100 Millionen Dollar Geschäft und hat 350 Angestellte. Und der Anfang machte die Idee, dass sie Vintage Kleider online verkaufen könnte. Aus dieser Idee wurde Nasty Gal, eine Online-Seite für Vintage-Kleider.
Das Buch #Girlboss erzählt uns keine American Dream Geschichte. Es ist keine "Hach, und plötzlich hatte ich 30 Millionen Dollar auf meinem Konto und es war total einfach"-Geschichte. Nein! Sophia Amoruso erzählt ihre ganz persönliche Geschichte ihres Erfolges und lässt dabei nicht aus, dass sie fast zwei Jahre kaum ein soziales Leben hatte, ohne jegliche Kredite arbeitete und viel Schweiss, Tränen und Blut hinter ihrem Erfolg stecken. Eine ihrer Regeln: Ein #Girlboss akzeptiert kein Nein! Amoruso muss manchmal eine richtige Nervensäge sein, aber offensichtlich lohnt es sich!

Das Buch #Girlboss ist aufgeteilt in verschiedene Kapitel mit den bedeutungsvollen Namen wie "Shitty Jobs Saved my Life", "Money looks better in your bank than on your feet" und "I am Antifashion". Jedes Kapitel gibt uns einen Einblick in Sophia Amorusos Leben und was sie dabei gelernt hat. Ladendiebstahl? Wohl keine gute Idee! Geboren als eine Fashionista? Wohl eher nicht.



Mir gefällt vor allem die Ehrlichkeit und die Selbstkritik. Sophia Amoruso verschönert nichts und weist direkt auf ihre Fehler oder ihren jugendlichen Leichtsinn hin. Trotzdem erhebt sie nicht den Zeigefinger und spielt den Klugscheisser. Im Gegenteil - sie zeigt auch auf, dass mancher Fehler wieder zu einer neuen Möglichkeit geführt haben.

Doch Sophia Amoruso überlässt auch anderen #Girlboss das Wort. Jedes Kapitel beinhaltet am Ende einen kurzen Beitrag einer #Girlboss. Zum Beispiel die Einkaufts-Direktorin von Nasty Gal Christina Ferrucci, die Bloggerin Alexi Wasser oder die Fashion Designerin Norma Kamali.

Das Buch gibt es bis anhin nur in Englisch. Es wird aber wohl nur eine Frage der Zeit sein bis es auch in Deutsch erscheint. Trotzdem rate ich euch, das Buch in Englisch zu lesen, da ich mir vorstellen kann, dass es sehr viel von seinem Wortwitz verliert, wenn es übersetzt wird.

Und zum Schluss für alle, die sich mehr fürs Leben anderer interessieren und dabei das eigene aus den Augen verlieren, vergesst das Folgende nicht:

"The energy you'll expend focusing on someone else's life is better spent working on your own. Just be your own idol."

Welcome to #Girlboss. If you still didn't move your ass so far, you will definitely after this book, Sophia Amoruso will kick your ass!

Sophia Amoruso was 22 years old, she checked the ID's at an art university to get the health insurance and she was broke - all the time. Today she is 30 years old, the CEO and creative director (she just stepped down this week as the CEO) of Nasty Gal and has 350 employees. And it all started with the selling of a single piece of vintage cloth on ebay. This was the beginning of Nasty Gal, an online fashion retail.

The book #Girlboss is not an American Dream story. It's not a story like "Oh, out of the blue, I had 30 million dollar on my account and it was so easy to get there". No, not at all! Sophia Amoruso tells us her very own story to success and she doesn't skip on the fact that she didn't have a social life for almost two years, that she did it without any loan and there was a lot of sweat, tears and blood up to the point where she is now. One of her rules is the following: A #Girlboss doesn't accept a No! I'm pretty sure that Sophia Amoruso can be a pain in the ass but obviously it was worth it! ;)

The book #Girlboss is separated in different chapters with the meaningful titles like "Shitty Jobs Saved my Life", "Money look better in your bank than on your feet" and "I am Antifashion". Every chapter gives us a little insight into Sophia Amoruso's life and what she learnt throughout it. Shoplifting? Not a good idea! Born as a fashionista? Not really.





What I really like about the book is Sophia Amoruso's honesty. She doesn't beautify anything, talks about her mistakes or her teenage carelessness. But she never plays the know-it-all. She just shows us how much you can learn out of your own mistakes and that sometimes you have to do them to get where you want to be.

But Sophia Amoruso is not the only one who's talking in this book. In every chapter another #Girlboss writes a couple of words about their life. For example, buying director of Nasty Gal Christina Ferrucci, blogger Alexi Wasser or the fashion designer Norma Kamali.


And to finish this post, I want to show you one more sayings by Sophia Amoruso for all the people who waste too much time on other people instead of focusing on their own life.

Buchreise *1 Morgen kommt ein neuer Himmel / Book journey *1 The Life List

Nimm mich mit auf eine Reise in andere Länder, fremde Kulturen, lass mich die Luft einatmen, die Düfte riechen. Lass mich teilhaben an den Geschichten, lass mich mit den Menschen lachen, um sie weinen, ihnen auf ihrem Weg folgen. Denn nur mit einem Buch in der Hand, können wir der Realitat für einen kurzen Moment entfliehen und uns in einer anderen Welt verlieren. 

Es gibt kaum einen Schlüssel zum Glück. Glück ist nicht greifbar, Glück kann man kaum in Worte fassen. Jeder Mensch hat eine andere Auffassung von Glück.


Brett ist Marketingchefin im millionschweren Familienunternehmen. Sie hat einen Freund und viele Bekannte. Sie sieht ausserdem gut aus und hat alles, was das Herz begehrt. Brett muss also unglaublich glücklich sein. Dieser Meinung ist auch Brett. Doch nicht ihre Mutter - sie fordert ihre Tochter in ihrem Testament auf endlich glücklich zu werden. Sie legt eine Liste zu ihrem Testament bei, die Brett mit 14 Jahren geschrieben hat, damals aber verärgert in den Müll geschmissen hat. 20 Träume, die sie in ihrem Leben erfüllen möchte. Bretts Mutter fordert ihre Tochter auf, all diese Träume wahr werden zu lassen. Erst dann wird sie ihr (millionenschweres) Erbe antreten können.

Brett ist fassungslos. Wie kann sich ihre Mutter so in ihr Leben einmischen? Ein Pferd kaufen?? Ein Baby bekommen?? Lehrerin werden?? Live auf einer Bühne auftreten?? Das kann alles gar nicht wahr sein. Doch Brett hat keine andere Wahl als die Liste in Angriff zu nehmen.


Das Buch ist eine wundervolle Geschichte über Glück, Liebe, Familie und Freundschaft. Es regt zum Nachdenken an, ist auf seine ganze eigene Weise auch sehr inspirierend. Man beginnt sich Gedanken über das eigene Leben zu machen. Was waren meine Träume als ich noch ein kleines Mädchen war? Hab ich mir mein Leben so vorgestellt?
Ich hab das Buch in ein paar Tagen verschlungen. Es bleibt wirklich von Seite eins an spannend. Kaum war ich mit dem Buch fertig, hab ich es einer Freundin weitergegeben und sie hat es ebenfalls in drei Tagen durchgelesen. Da muss also was dran sein ;)

Jetzt bin ich aber doch ein wenig traurig, dass das Buch schon wieder fertig ist. Kennt ihr das, wenn ihr über Tage ein Buch lest, völlig in der Geschichte versinkt und dann zack - das Buch ist einfach fertig!! Das kann doch nicht sein! Dann brauche ich immer eine kleine Pause, um das Buch und die Geschichte zu verdauen. Ich kann nicht einfach ein neues Buch beginnen. Das ist wie mit dem Schlussmachen. Zwei Tage danach ist mir einfach noch nicht nach einer neuen Beziehung.

Soo, nun bin ich gespannt, was ihr über das Buch denkt. Wer hat es ebenfalls schon gelesen? Wer mag es? Wer mag es nicht? Falls ihr es noch nicht gelesen habt, unbedingt, einfach sofort kaufen!!

Kennt ihr ähnliche Bücher? Lasst es mich wissen! Für mich ist eine gewisse Ähnlichkeit zu den Cecelia Ahern Büchern zu erkennen. Die sind übrigens auch sehr zu empfehlen, aber dazu ein anderes Mal!

Take me on a journey to new countries, other cultures, let me smell the flavors, hear the different noises. Let me be part of the story, let me laugh with the people, cry with them, follow their path through life. Just with a book in my hand, I can escape the reality for a little bit and get lost in another world. 

There is no key for luck. You can't touch luck, you can't describe luck. Luck is something that differs from person to person and being lucky is one of the biggest challenges in life. Everybody is pursuing happiness without even knowing what it exactly is.

Brett is the marketing boss of her family's huge business. She has a boyfriend and a lot of friends. She is a good looking woman and has everything that you need. Brett has to be completely happy. That's what she thinks. But that's not what her mother thinks. In her will she challenges her daughter to become happy. She adds a list which Brett wrote when she was 14. It's list with 20 dreams of a little girl. 20 years after, Brett can hardly remember the list she wrote when she was young. Her mother tells her in her will to let all these dreams become true - even not, she won't get her heritage.

Brett is unbelievably upset. How can her mother do that? Buying a horse?? Get a baby?? Become a teacher?? That's not Brett, that's the young girl with silly dreams and no idea of the real world. But Brett has no choice.


The book "The life list" is a wonderful story about luck, love, happiness, family and friendship. It is inspiring and makes you think about your own life. What were my dreams when I was a young girl? Is that the life that I was dreaming of?

I read the day in just a couple of days, I couldn't stop reading. As soon as I finished the book, I handed it over to a friend and she just told me that she had the same. So if you start page one, you can't stop until you reach the end. Just let me tell you that!
Now, I'm a little sad that the book is over. Do you know that feeling when you read a book for days, you're getting a part of the story, you suffer with the characters and then - it's just finished!! That's not fair! After finishing a book, I always need a little break. It's like after a breaking-up, I don't feel like having a new relationship right away.
